Simple Monochrome Nail Art

Hi Peeps!

In today’s blog I am going to show you a super simple monochrome nail art. I will be posting a video version on my Youtube, which I will link here when it is available. But in this post it will be a photographic version.

So let’s get started.

Step 1: Paint your nails in a colour of your choice. Use however many coats you need for your chosen polish. I only needed two coats. I have used Honolulu from Ulta3.

Step 2: Apply a coat of matte top coat. If you want your manicure to last, apply a quick dry top coat first, let it dry and then apply the matte top coat. I used Big Matte Topcoat from Sally Hansen.

Step 3: After the matte top coat has dried we can proceed to the next step. You will need a polish in a similar colour, you could actually use the exact same polish as your base, but I like the effect of a sparkly polish against the matte. I used Lemonhead from Sally Hansen. (Super old polish that you cannot get anymore) You will also need a fine liner brush or toothpick and something to put the polish on to make it easier to work with. I use a scraper from a stamper set because it is easy to clean off and reuse.

Step 4: Use your brush or toothpick to paint a pattern on your nails. I went with swirls. You could do dots, stripes, hearts, anything that you want. Fill up the whole nail or just do part of the nail. And that is it. Super simple, but really effective.

Here is the version I did in the video so you can see it in different colours.

Let me know what you think. If you try this out tag me in your photos on Instagram #heyhaffina so I can check it out.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Until next time.
